What is Pilates?

Pilates is a safe, sensible system of exercises, designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, posture and enhance mental awareness, transforming the way our body looks, feels and performs.  The system allows for different exercises to be modified in a range of difficulty from beginning to advanced. The exercises, on the mat or the apparatus, can be modified and adapted for ones individual needs and physical limitations, making this method ideal.  Working with a fully certified instructor who has knowledge of certain conditions and precautions is critical to a safe, successful program.
